The Spanish 1 class is foundational . We first analyze and review grammar and vocabulary basics, then we practice through real contexts such as dialogues, stories, songs etc. We try to give all four communication skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) equal practice time in the class. There is usually a little homework to maintain momentum and growth in the class.
Profe Tolvo’s classes run year round starting in the summer. Since students are coming in at different times of year, it is best to email Profe directly to find out what specific text or material they are using (elainetolvo@gmail.com). Most students use a three ring binder to store the handouts given each week. Pens and a composition or spiral notebook are ideal for taking notes.
